MEET OUR 2025 EDITORS

Our 2025 team was led by Matthew Ryan

Alessia Sicoli
she/her
Fiction Editor

Alessia is a passionate aspiring author who is particularly drawn to emotionally charged narratives, sharp dialogue, and anything that leaves readers a little haunted in the best way. She’s part of The Scroll editorial team as a fiction editor and has a soft spot for lyrical sentences and complex characters. When she’s not editing, Alessia can be found with massive headphones wrapped around her head, sketching, or rewriting sentences that were perfectly fine ten drafts ago in her own fiction and non-fiction pieces.

Amelia Freiberg
she/her
Non-Fiction & Production Editor

Amelia is in the final year of her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English with minors in Business and Psychology. Though still figuring out where life will lead her, she is certain that writing will always be part of it. She finds joy in reading and creative writing, having a particular fascination with the Japanese haibun form that intertwines poetry and prose. Amelia believes Scroll offers a unique space to celebrate student/staff creativity and feels honoured to have helped bring this year’s edition to life. Her favourite part of her role was watching each piece evolve during the layout process and celebrating the voices behind them. She would like to sincerely thank everyone who made this experience so memorable!

Ellie Wilmore
she/her
Fiction Editor

Ellie is in her third and final year of her Bachelor of Creative Arts, with a major in English, and two minors in Creative Writing and Communications. Ellie is a passionate writer, both as a creative writing student and as an aspiring editor. In fact, the editing process was her favourite part of this internship. She finds it difficult to see a spelling mistake and leave it uncorrected. She adores writing poetry and dreams of her poetry becoming more widespread. Whilst sometimes she’s a little unsure of her future career-wise, she knows that the one thing she wants to do for sure is write. She’s honoured to have been a part of the editing and publishing process with Scroll, and thanks both the students and lecturers for reaching out to help make the magazine as vast as it is. Thank you to the team especially, for making this internship such an enjoyable experience!

Indiana Hatzakortzian
She/Her
Fiction & Production Editor

Indiana is a third-year Creative Arts student, majoring in English Literature with minors in Creative Writing and Communications. Reading and writing are key passions that cause her to get out of bed in the morning. It is unsurprising to note that her love for prose and soft gothic tales has found its way into her work and submissions to the magazine. Her ultimate post-graduation goal is a career within the publishing industry. Scroll is to Indiana, an opportunity of a lifetime - where students and staff collaborate freely to bring together a magazine that highlights the talents of new and upcoming voices. Being able to be there every step, from piece conception, editing and uploading to the website, is an experience she will never forget. She thanks every individual involved in the Scroll project from the depths of her heart.

Jess Giuliani
they/them
Non-Fiction Editor

Jess is a third year Creative Arts student majoring in English literature and minoring in creative writing and communications. Jess has loved writing since they were a kid, now obsessed with both 19th century literature and modern-day comics. They do not limit their field of writing but have a soft spot for poetry; they’ve submitted poetry to the magazine every year they’ve been at ACU. Contributing to the magazine has been incredibly fulfilling and assured them that this is the industry they’d like to go into. They believe editing is one of, if not the most important parts of producing literature and hope to continue giving their aid to writers and authors in the future.
